So excited to plan for my Girl Scout Etiquette party. I did a little research on the subject of Etiquette and printed up some sheets to make booklets for the girls.
I found information on Public Etiquette, basically how to act on public transportation: Giving up a seat for the elderly or handicapped; not having loud conversations with a friend or gossiping on the phone; keeping your belonging and your body in one seat. Basically, just information I want them to have for our trip into Manhattan
Table Etiquette Rules which included how to sit at a table, how to eat at a table, and how to converse at a table. Here's hoping in sinks in.
The girls also learned how to set a table and after discussion, raced to see who could set the place from memory the fastest. This was easily the best event of the evening.
And finally a list of "Additional Tips" which are just basic everyday rules; Writing a Thank You note, Walking to the right, RSVP-ing rules
Originally I thought I'd use colored index cards to get the girls in separate groups, but then decided to head to Kinkos and make different color covers for each group.

Well, guess what? I have no idea where my stapler is, so I had to resort to SEWING the pages together...Luckily, it's just a straight stitch down the side.
They ended up looking great! Everyone commented on the sewn edge and It was all a last minute fix!
The evening went well minus two things:
1) I over-estimated and only needed 30 booklets...and
2) it's 2011...*sigh*
